James Patrick Garrett, a 65-year-old best known for his John Denver tribute, also was ordered to pay $82,000 in restitution when he was sentenced Friday for wire fraud, the Springfield News-Leader reported.

He entered a guilty plea last year.

New PCs will get the upgrade first, and all compatible devices are expected to receive it by mid-2022, depending on device age and hardware.  Again, note that the Windows 11 rollout will be slow -- it could take months before it's available on your device.

Garrett was initially supposed to be sentenced in January, but Judge Roseann Ketchmark asked for a continuance to allow the government to explore whether or not some of the money Garrett owed could be donated to a charity.

The enterprise purported to provide housing, education, food and other needs to displaced or homeless children. But prosecutors said Garrett used the donated money to eat out, pay off credit cards and pay rent and taxes.

They are still running the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, but she has reportedly decided to shift most of her donations away from their joint endeavor. French Gates said she is "friendly" but not friends with her ex-husband. The two were seen together at the wedding of their daughter Jennifer in October.

If you're not in a rush, the Windows 11 update will be pushed to your device at some point in the coming months when Microsoft's data indicates the upgrade is ready for that device. When the new OS is available to you, the upgrade process will feel similar to a normal Windows 10 update, as long as your device is compatible and meets the minimum requirements. (And even if it doesn't, Microsoft will offer a workaround, but in that case your Windows 11 installation won't be supported by the company.)

Melinda French Gates laid out painful details of her divorce from Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates in an interview with Gayle King of CBS News that aired Thursday. The discussion included talk of an affair Bill Gates acknowledged with a Microsoft employee in 2000.

If you're certain you want to proceed, you can create Windows 11 installation media or an ISO file. If you're not able to use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant, you have a couple of backup options, but be warned that these are more complicated. We seriously advise that you consider waiting for the update to come to your device.

The company will show off the devices in an all-virtual event via a livestream on Apple's website. The company said it will be "broadcasting from Apple Park," its headquarters in Cupertino, California. The tech giant has hosted online-only events since the start of the pandemic two years ago. Apple is currently assessing when employees will return to the office, as the omicron variant wanes.

So my heart breaks for these young women. I had nightmares about it afterwards. "I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein," she said, noting that she met Epstein once and regretted doing so. "He was abhorrent, he was evil personified. Because that's how I felt, and here I'm an older woman...

(AP) - A performer in the Missouri tourist town of Branson who convinced his audiences to donate thousands of dollars to a fake charity for foster children has been sentenced to five years of probation.

And if you buy a new PC, that computer will also be eligible for the free upgrade.  To see if your current Windows 10 PC is eligible for the free upgrade to Windows 11, you can check in a few different ways.

King also asked French Gates about The Giving Pledge, a promise from the world's richest families to give away most of their wealth to charity. Gates, French Gates and investor Warren Buffett founded the pledge in 2010, recruiting other wealthy people from around the world to take the pledge.

After some research, it was determined that roughly $52,000 of the restitution money would be paid to FosterAdopt Connect, an organization that works in Missouri and Kansas to help kids and families navigate the foster care system.

LONDON, March 7 (Reuters) - The three LetterOne shareholders not hit by Western sanctions have quit as directors and will no longer earn any income from the London-based investment group they co-founded with oligarch Mikhail Fridman as it tries to distance itself from Russia.

Wordscapes is a mix between Boggle and a crossword puzzle. You make words with the letters in your bank and fill out the crossword with them. Once you complete the puzzle, you're rewarded with a nice landscape picture. You are given a bank of letters at the bottom of your screen and there's a crossword puzzle at the top.

The investment group said its new board, led by Chairman Mervyn Davies, would work to protect the 120,000 jobs associated with the group's holdings after the European Union slapped sanctions on Fridman and co-founder Petr Aven last week.

Rumors suggest that Apple could reveal a third iPhone SE at the presentation, along with a revamped iPad and at least one new Mac. We finally have a date for Apple's next event: Tuesday, March 8 at 10 a.m.
