States like Hawaii, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington and New Hampshire had both healthy lifestyles and higher life expectancies, according to a new study by biomedical research and longevity society Life Extension

Similarly, states with the lowest life expectancy tended to be the states with the least healthy lifestyles and were mainly in the southeast. West Virginia was ranked last overall, followed by Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Kentucky.

In one indictment, an employee of a research institute affiliated with the Russian Defense Ministry is accused of helping hack a Saudi Arabian oil refinery in 2017. The Justice Department alleges that programmer Evgeny Viktorvich Gladkikh's code targeted safety systems that ultimately caused the refinery to shut down twice.

"Who made this? And who approved it? Heteronormative. Reinforcing the view that it is a woman's job to homeschool, clean, do the childcare," Pragya Agarwal, a behavioural and data scientist, said in a tweet which was liked 7,500 times.

The advert showed four households - one in which a woman holds a baby next to what seems to be an ironing board, another with a woman home-schooling two children, and a third with two women who are cleaning.

"Russian state-sponsored hackers pose a serious and persistent threat to critical infrastructure both in the United States and around the world," Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco said in a release. "Although the criminal charges unsealed today reflect past activity, they make crystal clear the urgent ongoing need for American businesses to harden their defenses and remain vigilant."

The overall healthy lifestyle ranking was informed by federal data measuring the following: amounts of exercise, proximity to parks and schools, fruit and vegetable consumption, hours of sleep, body weight, number of single people, anxiety levels and state expenditure on outdoor recreation.

The indictments follow warnings issued by President Joe Biden on Monday in both public statements and private meetings, cautioning organizations to harden their system security and remain vigilant against potential Russian cyberthreats. In the previous week, the FBI also advised companies that Russian-associated IP addresses were caught scanning five US energy companies for potential weaknesses.

"An ad that depicts a man with his feet up and family members creating mess around a home while a woman is solely responsible for cleaning up the mess" is "likely to be unacceptable," the guidance states.

The mother, who said she tried homeschooling at the start of the coronavirus crisis last year but stopped because it made her feel anxious and binge drink, told her kids are happy to be at school while she gets peace, quiet, and time to exercise.

Weeks later her decision is still sending shockwaves through Facebook, with parents slamming it as 'selfish', 'entitled' and disrespectful to essential workers while others defend the mum saying: 'You should walk a mile in her shoes.'

From the wife who discovered she married her cousin to the daughter who realized her late father had been swapped at birth, here Dailymail.com rounds up the most jaw-dropping family surprises to come from tracing your roots.

'Life expectancy' is determined by a number of factors, including healthcare and murder rates, but a study carried out by biomedical research and longevity society, , suggests general healthiness plays a major role too.

The second indictment alleges three officers of Russia's FSB intelligence agency hacked energy firms in more than 100 countries, including the US, to help the Russian government maintain clandestine access to critical infrastructure systems for potential future exploitation. The three are accused of engaging in multiple hacking campaigns, from 2012 to 2017, to gain entry into networks of companies across the energy sector, including companies managing supply chains, oil and gas, nuclear power plants, and utilities.

LONDON, Jan 29 (Reuters) - The British government withdrew a coronavirus public awareness advert that depicted women doing domestic chores while a man relaxed on a sofa and which prompted a wave of criticism that it exemplified "1950s sexism".

class=But there may be a darker reason for the growing interest: a harrowing documentary recently laid bare the damaging health consequences of incestuous families through the eyes of the deformed, inbred Whittaker family in West Virginia.

The explosion in popularity of at-home DNA testing kits has led to dozens of Americans uncovering shocking family secrets - including a man who discovered he had 30 siblings, and another who found out her husband was actually a relative.

In general, DC's low life expectancy was explained by racial disparities and a high incidence of heart disease, cancer and homicide, according to the Life Extension study. DC is also a city and not a state, so it often appears off when considering state-wide data.
